BMW, 서스펜션에도 전기차 충전기술 넣는다 본문
BMW가 서스펜션의 움직임을
전기차 배터리 충전에 활용하는 기술 특허를 출원했다고.
액추에이터를 서스펜션 컨트롤 암에 장착하여,
서스펜션이 위아래로 움직일 때 운동 에너지를
전기 에너지로 바꾸는 방식.
기존 브레이크 회생제동을 통해 회수하는 에너지는
자동차의 일반적인 움직임에서 회수하는 것이라면,
서스펜션을 통해 발생하는 에너지는
울퉁불퉁한 도로의 충격을 활용한다는 점에서 다르다.
이렇게 확보된 전기 에너지는
12V 배터리나 전기차 고전압배터리 충전에 활용될 수 있다는 것이
이론적인 설명.
보통 승차감을 극대화하기 위해 이런 장치나 기술을 활용하는 경우는 있어도
처음부터 '발전'을 고려해 설계하는 것은 처음이지 않나 싶다.
물론 옵션이 엄청나게 비쌀 것이 분명하기 때문에
실용성이 있을 지는 여전히 의문이나
어차피 서스펜션 열로 날아가 버릴 에너지를
조금이나마 회수하려는 노력은 의미가 있을 테다.
